I know its quite complicated to answer this question.
Any Entrepreneur should understand their purpose of life, it is something that keeps you moving forward, that gives you energy to continue as an Entrepreneur. Purpose of life is something most of us don’t really consider working on. Firstly if you are person who worries about Survival, Status, Freedom ; you are not moving in the right direction. Now understand this, PURPOSE is what make an entrepreneur different from a common man.
Have you ever thought that life is not only just about being born, going to school, graduating from a college and getting yourself a high-paying job. If this regular human life cycle gives you happiness then you probably belong to the 70 Billion other people in this world. People who are only concerned about survival and safety.
Think again, are you sure that we are here just to earn and live a life? Frankly, when I was around 12 years, I always got to go a nearby library and I kept learning more about the life histories of many famous scientists and leaders. that greatly inspired me. I had always thought of fame and identity as the purpose of my life. But to my dismay – they were not something that can make life complete!
What do you think can make a human life complete? Becoming rich, owning a brand new car, buying your own mansion spending millions, helping others, having a happy relationship with your spouse, having two children and watching them grow with all luxuries of life, starting up your own business, becoming famous, inspiring others……???
What is success to you – is it all about survival, do you think success is status or is it all about survival.
It took a lot of time for me to understand the meaning of my life, I had been poor, I had suffered criticism and rejection, I had struggled every day for survival. I hated life. There was a time when I even decided to quit life. I had a lot of hard ships and If it had not been for my Mom, I would not have become what I’m today. She said “Her purpose of survival is to take care of me and my brother and to make sure that we were safe and comfortable” – It sounded weird to me ; she never had a purpose for her life. It was not something she could think for her own benefit – her world was only about us and she didn’t care much about her dreams – our success was her success; she felt content with that!
But I’m not like her, I realized; I had dreams – dreams that are big and they needed a lot of sacrifices. I tried donating, sharing, helping …. Oops! nothing helped. Upon further experimentation, one fine day – I realized, life is about VALUES. Its not about the value of your money. People don’t look for your net worth – they see you as a person of value; value of your face, value of you actions, value of your existence, value that you can teach that can help others grown, value of sacrifice that you did , value that you left behind for your future generations to follow.
End of the day, all that counts is when people are standing around your grave – how many of them miss you badly, see you as a role model, beam in pride because they got to know you…. yes that is exactly what am looking for! Now, is that equal to what my Mom did – Yes! She had shared values ; that ended up making me beam with pride.
